Welcome back, Joy Machines!

We are so excited to have our Kidznotes students back in the classroom! Our new year began October 9th as we welcomed new and returning student musicians back to the Durham nucleo.

Beginners are choosing instruments under the guidance of older peers, teaching staff, and volunteers. It's so fun to see the sparks of excitement and anticipation as our first-time musicians find their sound.

Returning students are growing! Kidznotes provided new instruments to returning students to accommodate growing bodies. We are proud to be able to provide quality instruments to all students each year, thanks to generous donors.

We are thrilled to welcome Beth Murgitroyd and Cassandra Trinity Anderson to the Kidznotes Board of Directors. Both bring an incredible wealth of knowledge and depth of experience to the team and we're so grateful to have them.

Beth Murgitroyd,

Trustee and Board Member

The Murgitroyd Foundation

“My parents enrolled me in music lessons even when it was a financial sacrifice; it was the greatest gift I ever received. I love that Kidznotes offers opportunities that provide immediate benefits, and the potential for longer term benefits for the rest of the students' lives. My hopes and dreams are that the current programming will strengthen and flourish, bringing this opportunity to even more families.”

Cassandra Trinity Anderson

"The philosophy of El Sistema mesmerizes me; it is what drew me to be involved in a richer capacity. I also love how Kidznotes teachers execute lessons — igniting fun and joy in the process — and seeing staff who themselves are artists, never letting go of their dreams. Watching this balance of love of community and seeing this gift to the world has been thrilling to behold."
