Now located just steps away from City Hall, the Main Library and the Asian Art Museum, shoppers are loving the new location of the Heart of the City Farmers' Market!
Seating has been added to accommodate the larger Wednedsay lunch crowds, and customers now have access to free 90-minute parking at the Civic Center Garage with validation.

The Civic Center Carnival at the end of August brought joy and merriment to Fulton Plaza in the form of games, rides and carnival treats.

Interactive Exhibit, Middle Ground, Returns to Civic Center
The interactive exhibit from the Exploratorium, Middle Ground, has returned; inviting visitors to “pull up a chair,” and interact with one another.
“Social scientists have studied how we think, feel, and behave in relation to other people for decades. Their investigations have shed light on bias and stereotyping, humor and generosity, how we work together, and how we pull apart into tribes,” adds the Exploratorium. “Middle Ground explores these topics while giving people a chance to connect with others and experience directly the human phenomenon of the exhibition.”

SF Symphony Releases Expansion Plans |
The SF Symphony recently released plans for an expansion of the 210,000-square-foot Davies Symphony Hall, adding 55,000 square feet with interior renovations to the concert hall and lobby; along with plans for an adjacent performance park, new recital hall and an expanded musicians wing. Plans also include moving their parking below ground with a 76-spot garage. The SF Standard notes, "Director of Public Relations Taryn Lott wrote that the goal of the project is to make the 'symphony's home base more publicly accessible, transparent, and inviting.'"

Kelsey Construction Continues, Receieves Design Award |
The Kelsey -- a 100% affordable 8-story apartment building featuring 112 units -- was named a Fast Company Innovation by Design 2023 honoree for their inclusive design. While quarter 3 construction updates included installation of the below-grade waterproofing system, placing rebar, and pouring a ground floor concrete slab. Construction hours are weekdays 7am-5pm.

And don't miss More Than 2 Blocks of Art, Nov 11-12, 11am-6pm; the 10th annual event features over 20 locations of exhibits, live music, public art and activities within 3 short blocks. The event also coincides with ArtSpan's Open Studios weekend #3 and weekend performances such as the dance competition in UN Plaza (Saturday, 1-6pm), drop-in drag performances on the hour at the Strand Theater (Sunday, 1:30, 2:30, 3:30, 4:30 & 5:30pm) and building tours of the Hibernia Bank at 1pm, 3pm and 5pm (both days).

Appeals Court Allows Clearing of Homeless Encampments Upon Housing Offer |
The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals issued a ruling in favor of San Francisco, after City Attorney David Chiu brought an appeals case in response to U.S. Magistrate Judge Donna Ryu's temporary injunction that severely limited the City's ability to clean and clear homeless encampments. In an article in the SF Chronicle, it notes "San Francisco can now enforce laws that prohibit sitting, lying, or sleeping on public property against particular individuals who have declined a specific offer of available shelter or otherwise have access to such shelter, according to Chiu’s office. City employees can also continue to require people to move temporarily for the cleaning of public property, or if they are obstructing a public sidewalk or street."
