I APOLOGIZE FOR THE MISTAKE. - PASTOR AUSTIN

'Shouldn’t you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?’

-Matthew 18:33-

The king reigns and rules over the land. The king makes decisions, and they are so. Open your Bible to Matthew 18:21–35 and you will read an incredible parable, a story Jesus tells to make a point. Peter is asking how much he must forgive those who have wronged him and others. Jesus gives him a remarkable answer, indicating there is no limit to the forgiveness Peter should show others because God shows unforgettable forgiveness.

To illustrate this, Jesus tells a story a kingdom parable. How can you tell? It’s easy. These parables usually begin with “The kingdom of heaven is like …” Therefore this story is about how the kingdom of heaven functions, how God functions when it comes to forgiveness, and the lack of forgiveness to others.

Jesus shares a roller coaster story of daunting debt, unforgettable forgiveness, and the disgusting refusal to forgive. I will let you read Jesus’ story and ponder his profound words . . . nothing more needs to be said.

PRAYER: Jesus, thank you for forgiving me for all I have done. Help me to lavishly forgive others as you have forgiven me. Thank you for canceling my debt of sins fully and completely, and restoring me to new life in you my Lord, my Savior, and my King. AMEN

See you Sunday, I can’t wait!

Pastor Austin

The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
