Building Update
As you are probably aware, we recently had a flood caused by an overworked
A/C unit which resulted in water leaking through the Non-Fiction and Fiction collections.  We are happy to report a minimal loss of materials and damage to the building .  Our Director, Krista McLeod has put together a notice which you can read here describing our issues and recovery operations at this time.

The building is open to the public however there are some limitations on collections, computers and even seating.  We will try to keep you informed as to the changes in some of these parameters however this is a very fluid (see what I did there?) situation and we are working hard to keep things flowing (couldn't resist) around here.

Thank you so much for all the support you have given to us during this trying time.  We will be working hard to get the library back into ship shape as soon as possible.
Become a Literacy Tutor

Here at the Nevins Library, we sponsor a program to assist adults who either are unable to read at an advanced enough level or those who are struggling with the English language.  This volunteer opportunity matches one tutor and one student to meet  for 2 hours a week.  Before becoming a tutor we present a training workshop and we will be holding that training starting in September.  If you are interested in becoming a tutor please join us for one of these orientation programs so that we can explain and inform you all about this rewarding program.

Orientations:

Wednesday,  August 14 - 7pm
Tuesday,  September 10 - 7pm
Thursday, September 12 - 10am
Saturday, September 14 - 10am

For more information about the program or to reserve a spot in an orientation please call Kathleen Kenny, Literacy Coordinator 978 686-4080 x32
