Pollinator of the Month: Goldenrod Soldier Beetle (Chauliognathus pensylvanicus)


These pretty beetles are the unsung pollinators of fall! At first glance, they look like wasps, but they are harmless, eating mostly pollen and nectar.

This diet makes them excellent pollinators and ensures your late flowers will produce seed next year! They can appear in high numbers, but these beetles don’t damage plants and are very friendly. Let's give beetles the appreciation they deserve this month!
