Service Showcase Presentation Opportunity

The CSL's Service Showcase is Coming Up in January!


The annual Service Showcase and Celebration recognizes a year of service and community-engaged work at KU.


The Service Showcase is an opportunity for students to share their service projects and experiences with the University community and Lawrence community partners.


If you've been participating in service through a course, student organization, or on your own, we encourage you to submit a proposal for the Service Showcase presentation opportunity!


Submit a presentation proposal by December 22.

Civic Engagement Spotlight:

Youth Civic Research

Are you between the age of 18-25?If yes, you may qualify to participate in a study about youth civic engagement in the "Heartland" of the United States.


Participation Involves: A 45-60-minute interview via zoom, and a short survey. Participants will receive a gift card for their time.

Student Org Spotlight:

LEAD UP

LEAD UP (Leadership Education Adolescent Development with Unlimited Potential) is a student organization working with high school youth from historically excluded communities to attain college education. 


The LEAD UP program has several components, but one of them is mentoring high school youth one-on-one to become ready for college.

Paid Opportunity Spotlight:

Campus Compact Student Design Fellow

Campus Compact is recruiting five Student Design Fellows nationwide for a paid, two-year fellowship experience.


Student Design Fellows will work alongside Campus Compact staff, member campuses, and national partners to design initiatives dedicated to enhancing student civic leadership development across the country.



Committed to a two-year, student-led design process, Fellows will work with Campus Compact to research and review existing best practices, conduct interviews with students and subject matter experts nationwide, design and lead inquiry workshops, and ultimately ideate and develop a plan for Campus Compact’s student-facing strategy moving forward.



Apply for the Campus Compact Student Fellowship by October 27.

Service Learning Opportunities:

Certificate in Service Learning

We invite you to consider earning a Certificate in Service Learning. During the 2022-2023 academic year, 51 students were awarded a certificate in Service Learning.


Obtaining your certificate involves taking classes, engaging in volunteer work, and reflecting on your service learning experiences. Once you have earned the certificate, it is acknowledged on your official academic transcript.

completion of the Certificate in Service Learning, please

email our Certificate Coordinator at serve@ku.edu.
