GVFL Flag Football Update

With the Eagles picking up their first win this past Sunday, and Penn State now 2-0, it is officially football season. 

So let's get the GVFL Flag Football season kicked off!

On Thursday, September 21st at 6PM, all players and families are asked to stop by the football field at the new GVCO Community Center complex, 51 N Bacton Hill Rd, Malvern. We will be handing out jerseys, meeting teammates and doing an initial light workout. A full schedule will be released at the end of the week.

Each team will have several weekday evening practices over the next couple of weeks while there is enough daylight. There will be a practice and scrimmage for all teams Saturday morning, September 23rd, with regular season games beginning Saturday, September 30th.

GVCO will be meeting with those who volunteered to coach. If there is anyone else who would like to assist, please reach out to flagfootball@gvco.org.

We have 40 players registered in the program, about double what we typically have, but would still like to see a few more kids at different grade levels, across the 4 elementary schools. Registration will remain open until September 29th and we are hopeful that some additional players will register. Please reach out to others in your school classrooms and ask if they would like to join in on the fun.

Project Update

Deglar-Whiting has put up the scoreboards in the new GVCO Community Center. Deglar-Whiting is a multi-generational family business with roots here in Frazer. It is one of the larger gym outfitters in the tri-state area.

Cool story: one of the Whiting sons, now in his mid 20's, delivered the scoreboards to the new facility last week. When he was in elementary school, he played basketball at the old GVBL Center! Big thanks to Deglar-Whiting for helping out for years!

As Fall arrives, we anticipate opening the doors for the community's new center.

It's time for everyone in our Great Valley community to GIVE BACK. The community's support over the past six years has been tremendous [Donor List 7/31]. Let's finish what we started, paying off the debt and moving forward with the next phase of the project. To do this, the support must continue and be more broad based.
