Workforce Pathways for Youth Grant(Rounds 4 & 5)

Support national OST organizations that serve historically underserved and marginalized youth ages 14 to 21. These grants will emphasize age-appropriate workforce readiness programming to expand job training and workforce pathways for youth, including soft skill development, career exploration, job readiness and certification, work-based learning opportunities, and other work experiences, such as summer jobs, year-round job opportunities, and pre-apprenticeships and Registered Apprenticeships.

Funding will also support partnerships between workforce development boards and youth-serving out-of-school time organizations to scale up a coordinated and systemic approach to work and learning opportunities for youth across the country.

DEADLINE: Mon, Jul 15, 2024 11:59 PM EST

RESOURCES OF THE MONTH

Responding, Reimagining, Realizing OST Coordination

in a New Era

During the pandemic, out-of-school-time intermediaries helped support OST programs to address the heightened needs of children and their families.

The new report, commissioned by The Wallace Foundation, is based on one of the largest studies to date of OSTIs during the pandemic. The authors find that the OSTIs made contributions in three areas:

  • Working and advocating for program accessibility and responsiveness to young people’s needs.
  •
  • Strengthening or forming partnerships with other institutions to support families.
  •
  • Working to advance equity in the community’s system of OST programs.

National Summer Learning Week; July 10-14, 2024
