National PTA Art in Education

Reflections Art Contest

submissions due October 20, 2023

Reflections is a National PTA art in education program started in 1969 and is the largest arts in education program of its kind in the United States. Students have the opportunity to use their creative talents by expressing themselves through their own original works created around a theme. Reflections is not “just an art contest.” It helps kids take risks, be inspired, think creatively and be celebrated for their creativity and work.

Students in pre-K through grade 12 create original works of art in response to a theme. The theme for the 2023-2024 program will be “I am Hopeful Because…”

Students submit their completed works of art in one or more of the available arts categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, or Visual Arts.

Get more information about Reflections Art Program

Student's art work must be submitted electronically with completed & signed 2023-24 application to: reflections@normanrockwellpta.org by October 20th, 2023.

Heritage Night

November 16, 2023 6-8 pm

Rockwell Students and Families, please save the date! On Thursday, November 16, 2023 from 6-8pm, Rockwell’s PTA will host our annual Heritage Night at Redmond High School.

This FREE event aims to celebrate the diversity of our school’s community through a showcase of history, language, religion, holidays, literature, art, music, dance, sports, traditional clothing, crafts, and more! Kids of all ages love Heritage Night. It's a great time for the community to come together, and to learn about and celebrate each other!

Students will receive a blank passport and they can visit a variety of booths for “stamps”. Those who fill their passport with stamps from around the world will receive a small prize at the end.

We need your help!

Families who are interested are encouraged to participate in one of two ways:

  • Sponsoring a booth that represents your family's diversity or heritage (culture, country, community, etc.)
  • Performance: We are calling for students who would like to perform or demonstrate an array of talents particular to their heritage.

Please sign up to celebrate your heritage here!

If you have any questions, please reach out to the Heritage Night PTA Chair, Susan Walker, at heritagenight@normanrockwellpta.org

We can't wait to see you there!
