The FVSD Special Education Team hosted an informative and welcoming Meet and Greet for families. Thank you to our team of psychologists, program specialists, Educational Services Directors, principals, and "SPED" department technicians for supporting ALL KIDS, and to all our FVSD families for their partnership.

This week, we enjoyed Back to School Night at our elementary sites. Our teachers and staff welcomed families and shared their excitement for the year ahead. Events were well attended, so we thank FVSD families for prioritizing this important night. We look forward to Back to School Night at our middle schools next Thursday, September 28th.

Calendar of Events

Thanks to our FVSD interpreters, the Boys and Girls Club of Huntington Valley, and families who joined us for dinner as part of the Twilight Project! The project provides children with English literacy tutoring, homework help, and computer lab access, while parents/guardians participate in Community Based English classes. What a fantastic night!

Each month, the Superintendent-Parent Council hosts the heads of our school-connected organizations at a breakfast meeting. Thanks to our PTAs, PTOs, and the Schools Foundation leaders, for sharing best practices and program ideas for their non-profit organizations, and for staying informed about all things in FVSD.

Last week, the Cotsen Foundation hosted a conference for their Art of Teaching program participants. We are proud to have FVSD teachers from Cox and Tamura elementary schools selected to be part of the 2023-25 Cotsen cohort!🌟

Many gathered at our recent Personnel Commission meeting to celebrate two of our retirees. It's a long-standing tradition in FVSD to gift a bell upon retirement. Here's Cynthia Sullivan from our Child Care Programs office ringing in retirement.
