My name is Anvita and I'm the Finance Officer for Joan Viteri Memorial Clinic (JVMC), one of the student-run clinics through the UC Davis School of Medicine. We're opening up recruitment for UC Davis undergraduate volunteers, and we wanted to reach out and ask if you are able to share the message with your network. Volunteering at a clinic is a wonderful way for any students to learn about medicine, public health, and gain hands-on clinical experience, while supporting underserved communities. We think you might have some students who might be interested! We will be hosting information sessions on November 27th, January 9th, and hosting office hours January 10th and January 11th.

Good Morning Community Resource & Retention Centers,

Please forward this wonderful opportunity to undergraduate students in your organizations.

My name is Taylor Harris, and I am the new Pipeline Programs & Retention Coordinator in Graduate Studies. I am contacting you on behalf of UC LEADS, a program that prepares promising students for advanced education in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). We are hosting three virtual informational sessions this quarter for undergraduate students interested in our program. The first session is on November 29th, 2023, from 3 – 4pm and the second and third sessions are on December 6th, 2023, from 11am – 12pm and 4 – 5pm. All three sessions will be on the Zoom links provided in the google form, and will be sent out to registered participants. Students must meet at least sophomore standing (unit based) to be eligible for the program or must have at least 2 years left at UC Davis at the beginning of the appointment. Scholars accepted into the program are trained for graduate education (MS and PhD) and given the opportunity to perform paid summer research internships at UC Davis (1st summer) and other UC campuses (2ndsummer). More information about the program and the application criteria can be found on the attachment above.

Please RSVP for the events using the Google link provided below. I will send out a reminder a day before and an hour before each event. The Zoom links for the event are included on the RSVP form and will be sent out to registered attendees in a calendar invite.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me or our Program Director Lynne Arcangel for more information about the program.

On Tuesday, November 14th Graduate Studies will be hosting an informational session with the Institute for Recruitment of Teachers (IRT) in Walker Hall, West Conference Room from 12 – 1pm. If you have any students interested in any careers in education (K-12, higher education, policy, administration, etc.) this will be a great opportunity to learn about how IRT can support their graduate education.

In order to identify these issues, the External Affairs Vice President's Office would like to collect testimonials from UC Davis students. Create a great offer by adding words like "free" "personalized" "complimentary" or "customized." A sense of urgency often helps readers take an action, so think about inserting phrases like "for a limited time only" or "only 7 remaining"!

After all, we all deserve to be seen, to be heard, and to be loved in our humanity and shared struggle toward liberation.

We look forward to seeing you at our events!
