Dear Residents -

Unfortunately, the sun we see today is going to give way to clouds as a tropical system tracks up the coast, bringing with it heavy rain and high winds for the weekend. So, despite having high hopes for the first day of the Pearl River Farmers Market tomorrow, the difficult decision to postpone it was made. But not to worry, next Saturday, September 30, 2023, will be the new "official" opening for the farmers market. To get updates, please follow or like (or both!) the Pearl River Farmers Market Facebook page which can be found by clicking here.

And, another victim of the storm, the 13th Annual Golf Under the Stars event has been cancelled. There is some good news, however. Yoga at the Museum on Saturday is not being cancelled, but has been moved indoors.

Sunday is the first day of fall and you know what that means, time to start raking leaves. See the Orangetown Highway Department 2023 Fall Leaf Pick-Up Program for the correct way to place your leaves at the curb. Please review the policy, as doing it the wrong way can result in harm to someone, create a hazardous road condition and it violates State Laws.

Please note that, due to the ongoing construction work at Town Hall, the location of the October 14, 2023, Semi-Annual Paper Shredding and Non-Perishable Food Collection Event has been moved to the Tappan Zee High School parking lot.

For those who celebrate, have a meaningful Yom Kippur.

Regards,

Teresa M. Kenny
