SPOTLIGHT

MN Rural Detox Initiative (MNRDI)

The Minnesota Rural Detox Initiative (a project of MARATP - Minnesota Alliance of Rural Addiction Treatment Programs)

MNRDI is a statewide program to help Minnesotans find detox and provide needed relief to the state’s critical access hospitals. MNRDI will help critical access hospitals across Minnesota place SUD (Substance Use Disorder) individuals at the closest, quickest, and most relevant level of care for addiction detox and treatment.

The main goals of MNRDI are to

  1. Educate
  2. Coordinate
  3. Re-locate

MORE INFO

MARATP recognized that Minnesota has a two-fold issue with detoxification across the state when it comes to helping those who struggle with substance use disorder (SUD).

1.) The rate of overdose has risen considerably in the last several years.

2.) There is not enough detox beds in rural Minnesota to meet the growing demand.

This causes a lack of care for people who continue to struggle with SUD, with only 1 detox bed for every 26,000 people. MNRDI creates a solution to help with the logistics and transportation that goes into finding a detox bed for those in need, no matter where they are in Minnesota.

"1 detox bed for every 26,000 people"
