Letter from the Principal
The start of school has flown by! It's hard to believe that it is already September. I hope everyone enjoyed the four-day weekend. Being closed yesterday for Labor Day does make this Friday, September 8, a school day. Tomorrow is college t-shirt day, and Friday will be a spirit day. For reference, both our school year calendar and our master calendar of school events can be found here: Calendars — Trivium Academy (triviumacademytx.com)

Again, we'd like to thank you for your patience with carpool and for your efforts in contacting the city! We are so excited that they have allowed us to return to our original carpool plan and look forward to being in a steady routine for carpool for the rest of the year. In the mornings, please make sure that you are dropping off by 7:38 at the latest so that your children can be in their seats by the start of school at 7:40, and in the afternoons, please be on campus by 4:20 at the latest.

Our Partners in Education, PIE, chairs met a couple of weeks ago and hosted an informational session for the school last Thursday. We are off to a great start with initial planning for events and fundraising for the year. This is a wonderful group of volunteers who helps make Trivium such a special place! We welcome all who want to volunteer and ask that you complete the background security check as soon as possible so that you can be added to the approved volunteer list. Please click the button below to go to the volunteer background check form. Unfortunately, this third-party system does not send a confirmation. We will contact you if there is an issue with your background check.

We're looking forward to seeing those who can make it to the elementary curriculum night this evening from 5:00-6:30, and we enjoyed getting to see our secondary parents last week. Please see the flyer below for all of the events happening this evening!

Proud to be a Knight,

The cross country team has had a few workouts on the football field and the Carrollton Blue Line Trail. The team is enjoying the cooler weather in the mornings and will start their weekly workout schedule to prepare for their meet in October! We are all enjoying the start of the school year, training hard together, and excited to compete! Always Proud to Be a Knight!
Flag Football

All four football teams have been crushing it in practice learning plays, getting to know one another, and building Knight tradition.

We are so excited to have coach Noel Janacek leading the 4th-6th grade team alongside Paul Nolte and Arjun Gokal. We’re thankful for their commitment to developing these student athletes!

Coaches Aaron Beussman and Austin Gilly are doing great things building the middle school program and gearing up for their first games.

Coach Devin Campbell has the privilege of coaching the Junior Varsity with four returning players from last year’s team.

This week we are so excited to kick off the football season with all 4 teams playing home openers! Come out and support the 4-6th grade Knights at 4:30, 6-8th MSS team at 5:30, 6-8th MSP at 6:30, and the JV at 7:30.

Special thank you to the 6th grade students and families for hosting the tailgate! We’ll also have food trucks. Tickets can be purchased at the gate, $5 per adult/student and $3 per child 12 and under. Teachers get in free. Check out the All Sports Pass available for purchase on the Trivium website. Go Knights!
Volleyball

This week in girls’ athletics we are preparing for our first Charter League Volleyball games on September 7th! Our JV, 6-8 Premier, and 6-8 Secondary teams focused on scrimmaging last week. The 4-6 team is focusing a lot on the proper fundamentals and rotations of the game. All the girls are so excited to start their league games this week; come out and support our Lady Knights!
The Spotlight
Dive into the heart of school memories with our dedicated Yearbook Class! This passionate group of students is not just putting pages together; they're capturing the essence of the school year – every laugh, every challenge, and every triumph. With a keen eye for detail, our yearbook team learns the intricacies of design, photography, and storytelling, ensuring that each page is a testament to the vibrant life at our school. It's not just a class; it's a commitment to preserving moments that will last a lifetime.

Join us in celebrating their hard work and watch out for the masterpiece they're creating for all of us to cherish.

Knight Light
Our seniors had a great time painting their parking spots in spite of the high temperatures!
Our first two groups of Noble Knight award recipients were recognized at our elementary assembly and secondary pep rally. Congratulations, Knights!

Attendance Reminders
Trivium is a public charter school and therefore must follow state mandates regarding attendance.

*Please note- Texas law requires a district to retain students who are not in school at least 90% of the time a class meets. This includes excused and unexcused absences. Also, per state law, after a student acquires 10 unexcused absences, districts are required to file truancy.

When a student is absent, parents must send an email to attendance@triviumacademytx.com on the night before or morning of a student’s absence.

When students are absent, we must have a note from the parent or doctor concerning his/her absence(s) when he/she returns to school. If a student does not have a note when he/she returns to school, an unexcused absence will be recorded for those days. A two-day grace period will be extended to the student to bring in a note. No more than 3 parent notes per semester will be accepted.

Notes must include the following to be accepted:
  •  Student’s first and last name
  •  Grade level
  •  Days and dates missed
  •  Reason for absence(s)
  •  Parent’s signature
  •  Contact numbers
Lunch Time
We are excited to have Wholesome Food Services available this year as a lunch option for our students. Please see below for ordering information and a coupon for 10% off that is good through September 9. Please remember that since we have this available option for food service, we are no longer accepting outside food deliveries at the front office.

If you are sending a lunch with your child, please make sure to include any necessary utensils. We only have what the restaurants send us for the purchased lunches and don't always have extras to spare.

The Ascender Portal is available for secondary parents and students to set up an account to view grades. There are four links below. The first two links are the actual websites to login to either the student or parent portal in Ascender. The last two links are instructions for setting up your parent or student account.

Upcoming Events
September 13 - Denim Design for High School
We are having another Denim Design Day on Wednesday, September 13, from 4-6 in the cafeteria. The freshman, sophomores and juniors will be able to get creative and swag out their blue jeans or blue overalls to wear to the games while the seniors will design on white jeans or white overalls. This will be a fun spirit wear item for all of the games but most especially for homecoming week. Homecoming this year will be the week of September 25th, culminating with the Homecoming game on Saturday, Sept. 30th at 10:00 am.

We have navy, red, and gold fabric paint and stencils as well as some fabric markers, but feel free to express yourself and bring a little bling to the party! A lot of people also like to use fabric appliques. You can google spirit overalls, homecoming overalls, or senior overalls to get some design inspiration.

Spread the word to all your friends. We hope to see you on September 13! If you have any questions, please talk to Mrs. Zea.
