It's been wonderful to see so many of you in the Culture and Identity Centers this first week of classes. Thank you especially to all those who came out to celebrate the opening of the new Disability and Neurodivergence Cultural Center and to check out our new home at 019-023 Student Union. The Amigos Latinos Gala is a night of food, dancing, live music, awards, and a silent auction, all while giving back to scholarships for Latino students at Wright State. This gala is the signature fundraiser for the Amigos Latinos Scholarship and helps support the mission and work of the Latino Center. Tickets can be purchased online.

The ANA Center seeks up to two highly motivated, energetic, organized, creative, and committed student assistants who are dedicated to supporting the mission of ANA. On a daily basis, student assistants will interact with faculty, staff, students, and other visitors to the Culture and Identity Centers and the ANA Center. Student assistants are expected to be personable, timely, organized, work in a diverse environment, have working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, demonstrate excellent customer service, be able to follow through with assigned tasks, communicate with AD about needed support and clarification; and have a clear understanding of the services and mission of ANA. Apply by September 30; workshops run October through March
Up to two students will be selected to represent WSU in the Ohio International Consortium's "Introduction to International Education" Workshop Series. This series is designed for students curious about careers in international education but who have not yet had an international experience. Participants will explore careers in international education, have an opportunity to job shadow and network with leaders in the field, and learn how to document this experience during their job search. Students who complete the program will be reimbursed for the cost of their first passport. Follow the link above for full details and to apply. The Center for Intercultural Engagement seeks applications for a Program Fellow for the Multicultural Resource Commons (MRC). This is a 9-month live-on Administrative and Professional Staff position designed for a recent college graduate or early-career professional who reports to the Program Coordinator of the MRC. Successful candidates will have experience with programming and support for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities. This is a one-year position with the possibility of a second-year renewal and includes an on-campus apartment and a meal plan when dining services are in session. The National Conference for Community and Justice (NCCJ) of Greater Dayton's Teen Summit provides high school students with resources and skills that they can utilize to make changes in their school around topics of diversity, equity, and inclusion. This year, the theme is "Stigma: Overcoming Discrimination and Supporting Healing." Teen Summit will host 20 high schools in the Greater Miami Valley region. The Teen Summit encourages students to build networks of passionate youth leaders in their district. As a group, these leaders build projects to impact their district and community. NCCJ is in need of motivated college volunteers to help facilitate. Facilitators are responsible for leading their assigned group of high school students through the exercises as they work through the curriculum. Volunteer trainings are available October 10 and 12, the Teen Summit is on October 19. Interested volunteers can register using the link above. The Institute of International Education (IIE) American Passport Project Wright Passport Grant aims to break down one of the barriers to meaningful international travel by funding passports for Raiders.
