Car-Free MSP is Live!

Pause the next time you reach for the car keys to go to work, the grocery store, or crave a double mocha latte. Can you make this trip another way? Consider whether there is a bus stop nearby, if a brisk walk would get you to your destination while allowing you to soak in the sunshine, or if a ride on a bike would let you avoid traffic and construction. Alternatives to driving alone are often healthier, less stressful, and save money.

Car-Free MSP is a campaign that demonstrates how small changes can make a big difference. Move Minneapolis and partner organizations have teamed up to promote opportunities, resources, and events to go car-free and connect to the community via transit, carpooling, biking, walking, scooting, carshare, and more.

Make a pledge to switch at least one trip from driving alone between September 1st and September 30th and be eligible to win these fabulous prizes:

Imagine the big difference that small changes could make!

Take the Pledge

Offering Best Practices On Transportation Benefits

Many workplaces have an open enrollment period in the fall when benefits are reviewed, renewed, or changes are made. In preparation for open enrollment, employers often hold benefits, resource, or health and wellness fairs to inform employees about available options.

In preparation for the open enrollment period, invite Move Minneapolis to your employee events or fairs to demonstrate best practices around transportation benefits and sustainable commuting options. We provide expertise in sustainable commuting options that are fast, efficient, save money and the environment.

Move Minneapolis offers:

·      Tabling at employee resource, benefits, and heath & wellness fairs

·      Presentations on transportation and “lunch & learns”

·      Demonstration opportunities with our transportation partners

Better commutes reduce stress, improve health & wellness, and can save on the company’s bottom line. There is no cost for our transportation outreach services. Please contact Move Minneapolis to provide transportation benefits expertise during your open enrollment period.

Cruising Through Downtown with BikeMN

On August 15th, Move Minneapolis and BikeMN teamed up for an educational group bike ride through downtown Minneapolis. The goal of this event was to guide individuals through downtown in a safe and comfortable group setting, letting them experience the different infrastructure and unique downtown circumstances (a red light at every block?) that one might encounter while biking in this area.

Thank you to those who rode with us, to the Commute Ambassadors who joined, to Sierra for providing ASL translation, and especially to BikeMN for their partnership and leadership on an awesome event.
