Giraffe Gazette

Community Giraff-E-News - August 20, 2023

Dear DMA Giraffe Nation,

It has been an exciting first week of school, and it has been nothing short of a tremendous success! From the moment our students walked through the doors, their energy and enthusiasm were palpable. It's heartwarming to witness the excitement in their eyes as they reunited with friends.

We have spent the week getting to know our students and reviewing our DMA Way expectations. We are excited about the journey ahead. This first week has laid the foundation for an amazing school year.

With our first dismissal day ending at 4:20 pm to now ending at 3:50 pm, I can only say, WAY To Go, Giraffes! Please read the section about the car placard and walker QR code for more information on improving and meeting our goal of 3:45 for dismissal.

Our dedicated faculty and staff have worked tirelessly to create an engaging and safe environment for all, and I couldn't be prouder of their efforts.

As we reflect on the past week, there are a few highlights I would like to share:

  1. Smooth Transition: The seamless transition from summer break to the classroom is a testament to the collaboration between our educators, students, and families. Thank you for your support in preparing your children for this exciting new chapter.
  2. Enthusiastic Learning: The passion for learning exhibited by our students is inspiring. Their active participation in class discussions, interactive activities, and work has set a positive tone for the year ahead.
  3. Community Unity: The sense of community that defines DMA has never been more evident. Our families' engagement, our faculty's dedication, and our students' kindness towards one another reaffirm our commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  4. Safety First: Our top priority remains the health and safety of everyone in our school community. If your child is sick and with a fever, please keep them home until they have been cleared for 48 hours. More information regarding protocol can be found at: https://www.dallasisd.org/Page/139 . Your cooperation in this regard is greatly appreciated.
  5. Parent-Teacher Collaboration: I am grateful for the partnership we share with our parents and guardians. Your involvement in your child's education is invaluable, and we look forward to continued collaboration throughout the year.

As we move forward, let us keep this positive momentum going. Our collective efforts will pave the way for an enriching academic journey filled with growth, discovery, and achievement. There will undoubtedly be challenges along the way, but together, we are more than capable of overcoming them.

I encourage you to stay engaged with school events, activities, and communications. Your feedback is important, and we are always here to listen and make improvements that benefit our students.

Thank you for your unwavering support. I am excited about what the rest of the year holds for us. Let's continue to inspire, learn, and grow—together as we Make A TALL Difference Every Day with Every Child.
