Ken Burns Presents: Hiding In Plain Sight - Film Screening & Panel Discussion
Thursday, August 31st
9:30 AM - 12:30 PM
Vinebranch Chapel @ Alpharetta First UMC
69 N Main Street, Alpharetta
Hiding in Plain Sight focuses on more than 20 young people who provide an intimate look at what it’s like to experience the symptoms of mental illness, from depression to addiction to suicide ideation. The film includes insights from families, providers, and advocates and explores the impact of childhood trauma, stigma, and social media.
Following the film, our panel of experts and advocates will facilitate a dynamic discussion, delving deeper into the themes raised in Hiding In Plain Sight. This interactive session will provide a platform for meaningful dialogue where participants can ask questions, share insights, and exchange ideas to foster mental health awareness and support in our communities. Fulton County Commissioner Bob Ellis will be moderating a panel discussion with mental health leaders in our community.
