According to the New York State Department of Labor's official report, Clinton County witnessed an impressive overall job growth rate of 4.1%. The current labor data for Clinton County, New York, paints an optimistic picture of a region on the path of robust recovery and growth. The county's overall job growth, spearheaded by significant developments in the services, manufacturing, healthcare, and education sectors, showcases its resilience in the face of adversity.

Just last year, Danielle (Dani) King was promoted to Director of Business and Workforce Development. Shortly after her promotion, Dani received her economic developer certification, CEcD. Now, we proudly announce that she has been promoted to Vice President of the organization! Dani's position became effective August 1. Click the link to learn more about her new role.

As part of a growing commitment to investing in the local workforce, TDC grant programs support manufacturing skills development and STEM career exploration in the region. This two-pronged approach allows TDC to help maintain a capable workforce today while supporting the workforce of tomorrow. The TDC education grant supports:

  • Career Exploration - Experience the exciting opportunities in a STEM career pathway. Partner with local higher ed, trades, etc. to create an experience for students to learn about the options available to them in STEM (especially manufacturing)! 
  • Tools for Educators - Equip your classroom with the tools, curriculum, and resources you need to help empower your students to explore career pathways they might not have otherwise considered.
  • Local Opportunities - Most North Country residents aren't aware of the incredible companies offering opportunities in their own backyard! Showcase Clinton County manufacturers and the innovative careers they offer.

Next weekend begins the Labor Day holiday weekend. Which means it is back-to-school and a change of seasons. We hope you can take a moment to rest, recharge, and enjoy this well-deserved day. From all of us at TDC, we wish you a very happy Labor Day!


In honor of the holiday, we will be closed Monday, September 4. You can always find resources and information at tdcnny.com. We will reopen for normal business hours on Tuesday, September 5. Good luck to new and returning students!

TDC is Planning the Last PARK PERKS Event of the Summer

Unfortunately, our "summer food truck Fridays" - Parks Perks program has to come to an end. The weather did not cooperate with us in August causing us to cancel the last scheduled event. We hope to have a larger celebration mid-September to end summer with a bang! We are looking at 9/20 or 9/21, just awaiting confirmation from vendors.

Two New Scholarships Available at Clinton Community College

New York State Assemblyman Billy Jones and Mike Carpenter, President and CEO of MHAB Skills Campus partnered with the Clinton Community College Foundation to create two scholarship opportunities for incoming CCC students. The scholarships are designed to fund education in manufacturing, criminal justice, skills development, and trade fields. These scholarships will officially come into effect in the spring of 2024.

JCEO Accepting School Supplies for the 2023-2024 School Year

JCEO’s Community Outreach Program helps provide basic school supplies for school-age children in Clinton and Franklin Counties. If you're able to donate school supplies, JCEO accepts them year-round but, there is still time to donate for this year's school year. Supplies will be distributed next week. If you'd like to apply for the program in Clinton County, call 518-561-6310.
