Breakfast Run 'AMAZING' - another opportunity August 12
Thanks to everyone who made South's June 22 Breakfast Run possible! "Our guests in the city were happy to see us and expressed appreciation for the delicious breakfast and the socks, underwear and toiletries we had for them," said organizer Maureen Fox.
A glimpse from Stan Fox: When one of our guests - a middle aged man with his dog - got his breakfast, he sat with the dog and shared the bacon, tearing off piece by piece: one for the dog, one for himself, until they had finished their portion.
We are committed to one more morning - Saturday, August 12 - of bringing breakfast and companionship to the homeless poor on the streets of NYC. How can you help?
Donate
- NEW men’s briefs (L), NEW white athletic socks (L), and used & clean t-shirts, any colors, (L, XL) as well as tooth paste, toothbrushes, deodorant, soap and wash clothes
Prep food
- make quiches, each large enough to serve 6 adults
- purchase breakfast sandwich fixings: croissants, ham & cheddar cheese (other breakfast sandwich ideas are welcome)
Participate
- We NEED YOU to come on the Run. It’s one stop, mission accomplished in 2 hours, then drive home.
Please let Maureen Fox know how you can help. There is also a signup sheet on the kiosk in Fellowship Hall. mbuckleyfox@gmail.com | (516) 662-2263.

Community Nursery School hosted four children from the Ardsley Asylum Seekers at their last week of summer session. Not only did the little ones enjoy fun and learning, their families also received welcome and support.
Bilingual interpreters for the children including CNS counselor Nicholas, teen Pantry volunteer Kat, and CNS intern Enye. Milagro Galland, a member of South, spoke with the children’s mothers about their needs. "Zion Episcopal Thrift Shop opened their doors to them to shop for free," said Platt. "It was magical for all of us."
