Welcome Back to School, Palm Beach County!

The District is excited to welcome everyone back for the start of the 2023-2024 school year. Our mission remains to “Educate, Affirm, and Inspire each student.” We’re committed to creating a sense of community in which every person feels valued, and is given the opportunity to reach their full potential.

For more than 100 years, we have provided our students with the education and skills they need for postgraduate success. The State of Florida has designated the District as an A-rated Academically High-Performing School District, which is a tremendous distinction confirming why our schools are Your Best Choice!

New Dual Language Program Begins for Kindergarteners

The District is excited to introduce the first Haitian Creole dual language two-way immersion kindergarten program at Indian Pines Elementary School opening for the 2023-2024 school year! Indian Pines is the third school in the District to offer this dual language program along with Lake Park Elementary and Rolling Green Elementary.

AP Psychology Returns for the 2023-2024 School Year

Based upon the latest guidance available from both the Florida Department of Education and the College Board, the District will return to offering the Advanced Placement (AP) Psychology course for this school year. “We appreciate the patience of our students, parents, teachers, and school administrators as we navigated the uncertainties of this situation over the past few days,” Superintendent Mike Burke said.

Pahokee Students Travel to Washington State to Collaborate With Researchers

Follow the students from Pahokee Middle-Senior High School as they visit Seattle, Washington to learn from researchers at the University of Washington, and even see snow for the first time. The relationship between the researchers and the students dates back to 2019, when the students, who were middle schoolers at the time, participated in the First Lego League Robotics Competition.

Another Fantastic Year of the District's Summer Internship Program Has Come and Gone

From Communications, to I.T., to Recruitment & Retention, to School Police, the School District of Palm Beach County has a robust internship program allowing students to be fully immersed in a future career path. Superintendent Burke spent a day with this year's 2023 interns and received feedback about what they enjoyed and learned from their experience over the summer.

Today's Summer Interns Prepare to Lead Tomorrow's Classrooms

Meet Palm Beach County’s first school-based summer interns. These aspiring teachers spent time at summer academic programs gaining hands-on experience in the field of education. As a part of the District’s Grow Your Own Initiative, this internship opportunity ensures that the District will have a new generation of outstanding educators who have a passion for fostering a love of learning.
