August Networking LUNCH!

You read that correctly! This month we hosted a networking lunch in place of the monthly breakfast. We had over members in attendance and John Walsh, GLAR affiliate and owner of Premier Property Media gave an informative presentation on advertising photography. He shared useful information on drones, staging, and the best time of day to take photos.

The GLAR Executive Committee attended the 17th Annual Unity Luncheon hosted by the Lewisville Area Chamber of Commerce, Flower Mound Chamber of Commerce, and the Highland Village Business Association. We had an opportunity to network and make connections with local nonprofit entities at the NonProfit Expo, and cheer on Lovepacs Lewisville as they were presented with the Unity NonProfit of the Year Award!

The Community Affairs Committee donated they're time to the set up and facilitate the LISD Back to School event. Over 5,000 students were supplied with the essential resources needed for the 2023-2024 school year.

We met some new friends and ran into a few familiar faces!

What you need to know - Seller Class Action Litigation

NAR and 4 corporate (brokerage) defendants were sued in lawsuits filed in Missouri (plaintiff “Burnett”) and Illinois (plaintiff “Moehrl”) alleging commission rates are too high, buyer brokers are being paid too much, and NAR’s Code of Conduct and MLS Handbook along with the corporate defendants’ practices lead to price fixing.

NAR and the corporate defendants adamantly disagree, and NAR’s rules are very intentionally pro-consumer and pro-competitive.

You may refuse to contribute without reprisal, and the National Association of REALTORS®, Texas REALTORS®, and its local associations will not favor or disadvantage anyone because of the amount contributed.
