During the next couple of weeks, we'll be cutting a lot of ribbons to welcome businesses to Batavia! We'll welcome Plimsoll Studio and Culver's in Batavia this week. Next week, it is the red-carpet opening and ribbon cutting for Emagine Theatre Batavia, followed by Energie Salt Suite & Spiritual Boutique and on Friday, New Moon Vegan. On June 9th, we welcome Cross Kicks Fitness with a ribbon cutting. Scroll down for all the details!

Looking back, the Batavia Chamber has been involved with ground breakings and ribbon cuttings at businesses throughout the Fox Valley. We found a photo of a 2004 ribbon cutting. We noticed that the scissors are much smaller than the ones we use today and the ribbon wasn't pre-stamped with our logo and name. We're biased, so we think that what we currently use is a great improvement!

Batavia Chamber of Commerce Announces Grow Your Business Scholarship

Chamber members, apply by August 1st!

In partnership with the Fox Valley Entrepreneurship Center, applications are open to Batavia Chamber members for a mentoring scholarship designed to bolster a business’s acumen across all areas of operation.

The Batavia Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce that for the second year, a scholarship program for selected small businesses who are members in good standing with the Batavia Chamber is available. A fund called the Grow Your Business Scholarship was established last year.

The recipients of last year’s award, valued at $10,000 or more, were The Tea Tree, 29 N. River St. and House of 423, 10 E. Wilson St., both in Batavia. Participation in the program has been extremely beneficial, according to the business owners. Read the entire press release and submit your application today.

The New Batavia Community Flags Are In!

We have both the 3-foot by 5-foot and garden flags in stock at the Batavia Chamber office. If you've already ordered your flag(s), stop by to pick them up.

Jen Meiring of Batavia is the Winner!

Our raffle for two Taylor Swift tickets graciously donated by George Gladis of Volkmann Insurance was a success! We raised $18,900 that will be equally divided between CHIP IN Batavia and our Inspire High School Scholarships. And, a Batavia resident, Jen Meiring, won the raffle. She is the director of the Batavia Interfaith Clothes Closet. Congratulations and have fun!
