WOMEN’S FALL BIBLE STUDY

Please join your AVPC sisters this Fall semester as we study through the book of Judges together. The book of Judges covers the history of Israel between the death of Joshua and the appearance of Samuel. For Israel, this was a time without a formal government. The people were supposed to look to God for leadership, but when they failed to do so they were doomed to a continuing cycle of disobedience, suffering, cries for help, and deliverance. In the book of Judges, we will learn of the great depth of God's love, patience, and mercy as you see it continually offered to people who do not deserve or appreciate it. We will be beginning our Monday studies on August 28 at 3:00 PM at the home of Wendy Allison. Wednesday studies will begin on September 6 at 9:00 AM in the Church Parlor, and Wednesday night studies will begin on September 6 at 6:00 PM at the home of Lea Anne Parker. Study books are available in the Parlor for a cost of $10.00. Questions? Contact Amy MacCaughelty at 205-706-6016.

AVPC Community Groups will begin September 6. If you would like to join a community group or would like to know more information about them email Jack Morris at crowndoc84@gmail.com.

We will be having our Women’s Fellowship Luncheon on Sunday, September 17 in the Fellowship Hall immediately following the late service. We hope many of you are able to join us and connect with some of your AVPC sisters. Contact Heather at heather@avpc.org if you have any questions.

Each month there will be a specific theme and four Scripture verses for you to use in praying for the Pastoral Transition Process. The theme for the month of August is Love.

Pray the week of August 1 – August 5:

“By this everyone will know you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:35

Pray the week of August 6 – August 12:

“For the Spirit of God does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.” 1 Timothy 1:7

Pray the week of August 13 – August 19:

“We have come to know and believe the love God has for us. God is love. If you live in love, you live by the help of God, and God lives in you.” 1 John 4:16

Pray the week of August 20 – August 26:

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.” John 13:34

Pray the week of August 27 – August 31:

“Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. LOVE BEARS ALL THINGS, BELIEVES ALL THINGS, HOPES ALL THINGS, ENDURES ALL THINGS.” 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
