The Culture and Identity Centers have moved!

The Culture and Identity Centers spaces at Millett Hall 140-158 and 108a Student Union are now closed. We are putting the finishing touches on our new spaces in 019 and 023 Student Union. Please stay tuned for more information about our re-opening!

Have you seen the hill of wildflowers between parking lots 10 and 11 at WSU this summer? Would you love see more gorgeous sites like this on campus? The Indigenous American Culture Student Association (IACSA) invites volunteers to help them clear a bed of ivy and plant in its place seeds of wildflowers and pollinators native to this region.

Established Leader Retreat

Sweet P's Handcrafted Ice Pops will be featured beginning at noon each day––enjoy a fresh fruit, handcrafted popsicle made with whole and organic ingredients––while supplies last!

Student Assistant, Asian and Native American Center

$10.10/hour; undergraduates with work study preferred


The ANA Center seeks up to two highly motivated, energetic, organized, creative, and committed student assistants who are dedicated to supporting the mission of ANA. On a daily basis, student assistants will interact with faculty, staff, students, and other visitors to the Culture and Identity Centers and the ANA Center. Student assistants are expected to be personable, timely, organized, work in a diverse environment, have working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, demonstrate excellent customer service, be able to follow through with assigned tasks, communicate with AD about needed support and clarification; and have a clear understanding of the services and mission of ANA. Resident Assistants, Housing and Residential Life

RAs must be available to begin training on the morning of August 13, 2023

 

Recruitment is primarily for the Honors, Hamilton, and Woods Residence Halls. Apartment staffing is filled.

 

Resident Assistants are provided a single furnished room as part of the semesterly compensation as well as a partial meal plan (amount to be announced). In addition, they are offered exceptional leadership development opportunities through one on one supervision and group mentorship; professional networking opportunities within the field of college student housing and beyond; skill development through practicing communication, administrative follow through, and professional development sessions; and direct and indirect emergency response and triage practice. 17 high school students completed the inaugural Latino Center Summer Program

Wright State hosts inaugural Latino Center Summer Program for high school students


Seventeen area high school students participated in Wright State University’s inaugural Latino Center Summer Program, which offered them the opportunity to learn college success strategies, get tips on career readiness and receive hands-on experiences with the university’s six colleges. When people think of Asian American communities, Chinatowns such as in San Francisco or New York come to mind. But the Midwest––Ohio in general and Dayton in particular––has pockets of Asian Americans who might go unnoticed or be misperceived. Now, though, individual stories about those of Asian descent, including several from Wright State University, are coming to light through a special project called “Asian in Ohio” produced by Midstory, a Toledo-based nonprofit media group. The Institute of International Education (IIE) American Passport Project Wright Passport Grant aims to break down one of the barriers to meaningful international travel by funding passports for Raiders.
