Congratulations to Founding Director, Don Neuen!
In late February, Wisconsin Singers Founding Director, Don Neuen, was honored as the recipient of the 2023 Robert Shaw Choral Award by the American Choral Directors Association. This award is given to a leader who has made significant contributions to the art of choral music in America. As the first director of Wisconsin Singers, Don set a high standard for excellence and professionalism for each student in the troupe.
During his speech, Don said, “Perfection is possible. Not by everybody all the time, but by most of the people most of the time. If the teacher knows what to teach and how to teach it and demands with love the best the students have to offer every time…we will achieve collective perfection from everybody.”
Don Neuen’s legacy lives on in Wisconsin Singers as we continue to strive for perfection in all that we do. We are deeply indebted to Don for all of the foundational lessons he has brought to the program and his students. Watch the full acceptance speech here.

Spring Showcase was a Smashing Success!
It may not look like it in Wisconsin, but spring has sprung! Earlier this month, a roaring crowd of Badger fans and UW alums welcomed Wisconsin Singers to The Villages, FL, for two of the most anticipated shows of the season. We treasure this annual opportunity to connect with such a strong contingency of enthusiastic Badgers and share our song across the nation. We're already looking forward to next year!
