Weekly Newsletter 07/07/2023

Dear Parents,

This week, although short and wet, was super exciting at Kids For Kids Academy. Our attendance was low as many families went on vacation.

We did welcome 13 high school students on our campus this week as part of the Miami Dade Schools Summer Youth Internship Program. As part of this program, high school students are paid by the school district to work at local businesses. This is a huge plus for our teachers as they have extra helping hands to prepare materials, read stories and assist the children in class projects. We even have one intern who is assisting in the kitchen and helping on the soccer field.

Please be aware that these interns are never left alone with children and are not permitted to go with children to the bathroom. Several of them are actually Early Childhood Students getting their childcare certificates in High School. Some will be hired for the fall. You may have seen them helping Jackie at the door by picking up kids in the classes and walking them to the door on Jackie's direction.

My favorite part of this is 10 of the 13 interns actually attended Kids For Kids Academy when they were little babies so welcoming them back is really bitter sweet.

The fun continues this summer as our kids are loving the Karate and Ballet program. Be sure to check our parent corner every week for little videos. They should be posted by Saturday each week. We have had several requests to sign up, but to ensure proper supervision, we are limiting the groups sizes. There will be additional classes added in August so if you missed out, we will open spaces then.

Have a wonderful weekend with your families!
