Fiona in Managing Director of Walkers Professional Services, having joined the Irish office in 2016 to establish the professional services business. Fiona is a Chartered Director, a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Consultant. She has extensive experience in the corporate services industry and is a director on the board of a wide range of Irish structured finance and aviation special purpose vehicles. Her clients included leading financial institutions, private equity funds and aircraft lessors. Prior to joining Walkers Professional Services, Fiona was director of accounting in the Irish office of SFM Europe and she previously worked in the financial services audit team in Ernst & Young. Before training as a Chartered Accountant, Fiona studied and worked as a classical musician in London, studying in the Royal Academy of Music and performing with many of the leading London orchestras. She believes that her unusual career journey from classical musician, teacher and performer through to financial services leader enables her to bring a different perspective to the corporate workplace and has significantly helped her in building out and leading a successful team.

Aongus McCarthy is a Partner in Walkers' Asset Management and Investment Funds Practice Group in Ireland. He advises domestic and international asset managers on the structuring, establishment and operation of investment funds under Irish law, across the entire life cycle of the fund. Aongus advices on UCITS, retail investor alternative investment funds (RIAIFs) and qualifying investor alternative investment funds (QIAlFs) covering all types of strategies and asset classes, including debt, credit, real estate and private equity strategies. Aongus also advises on the establishment and operation of management companies and alternative investment fund managers and also has experience in various aspects of corporate governance, distribution and regulatory compliance matters.
