October 02, 2023

From the Desk of Mr. Marty Van Hulle, Principal

SAL Parents:

The generosity and support of the SAL community was on full display last week as we gathered for the Gold in September mass and the funeral ceremony for Ralph Brunner.  Thank you to all who participated in supporting the Hogans, all impacted by cancer, and the Brunner family!

We have a myriad of activities and events occurring over the course of the next couple of weeks.

  • Pet Blessing is scheduled for this Wednesday at 2:00 in the playground area behind the school.

  • Book Fair begins on Monday, October 9 and runs through the end of the day on Friday, October 13 (thank you Rachel O’Connor and Lindsay Schweikert).

  • We will celebrate KISS Day (Kids Invite Someone Special) next Friday, October 13 with mass at 12:30 PM followed by an opportunity for “KISS’ers” to visit their student’s classroom. RSVP and volunteer sign up is here. Thank you to Pam Feldkamp for coordinating this event.

  • Additionally, we host first trimester Parent Conferences on Tuesday, October 10 and Thursday, October 19 from 3:00 – 7:00. A reminder that conferences will once again be held virtually. Parents will receive their conference time slots sometime in the upcoming week.

We want to take the opportunity to send a special shout out of thanks to Mrs. Theresa Biwer who did a great job in subbing for us in middle school math. Theresa went above and beyond to ensure that our students had a positive experience in the math classroom as we await the arrival of Mr. John Leonardi who will be with us on a permanent basis beginning next Monday. Thank you Theresa!!

Enjoy these beautiful fall days!

Take care and God bless,

M. Van Hulle
