Equipping the Next Generation

We thank God for the five students who graduated in Bohol and the four new classes that were started in Davao, Bukidnon and Eastern Samar with a total of 43 new students.

We are also thankful for the pastors who continue to train other pastors and church workers in 226 equipping classes all over the Philippines. Here is a photo of one of our classes in Bukidnon. The teacher is Pastor Frank Flores, one of our graduates.

We appreciate your prayers and support.

Conference & Graduation

We held a two-day Teachers’ Conference in Cagayan de Oro City. We had 13 teachers and key people join the training from the provinces of Misamis Oriental, Bukidnon and Lanao del Norte. Here are three of the main things that these pastors are planning to do as a result of this conference:

  • They will gather and organize the alumni to encourage them to start new classes and to be a part of our support team.
  • They will organize a sports fellowship to foster greater cooperation and friendship among the alumni.
  • They will promote CCI among ministerial groups and hold Teacher Training Workshops to create more classes and expand in more areas.

The fourth batch of students at Heavensent Gardens Ministry in Maribojoc graduated in April after two years of study. The photo shows the 5 graduates together with other alumni who graduated in previous years and came to join in this celebration. The first graduation was in 2015.

TTWs & New Classes

Pastor Karl from Guiuan, Eastern Samar, contacted me requesting to be trained on their curriculum. Another pastor had attended a Teacher Training Workshop (TTW) in Cebu in January 2023 and mentioned the training to Pastor Karl. Guiuan is a small town in the easternmost part of the Visayas facing the Pacific Ocean. I asked Pastor Melvin to go there and lead a TTW for Pastor Karl and his people even though Guiuan is more than 800 km away and it’s outside Pastor Melvin’s area of responsibility. It took Pastor Melvin more than 24 hours to get to Guiuan by bus, boat, two public vans and tricycles, and the same amount of time to get back home. But as a result of this TTW, Pastor Karl is now teaching a class at his church with five students.

Pastor Melvin and Pastor Anthony held another TTW with 15 participants in Bayawan, Negros Oriental. The participants have not yet started a class but we are hoping that many classes will be opened in Negros Oriental as a result of this TTW.

Joel and Elen Curtiss started a class in Davao City. They had just attended a TTW in the US under Ric Hesse before they moved to the Philippines.

Pastor Dominto held an orientation for a new class in Malaybalay City. The students are excited and they are shown here holding their enrollment and commitment forms. In the commitment form, the student signs a statement in which he promises to faithfully attend, participate and comply with the requirements of the training.

Prayer Requests & Praises

Please pray for the CCIP National Conference to be held in Bohol in June. We need financial assistance for the food and transportation of delegates from all over the Philippines. We have several speakers lined up to talk about topics that will benefit the listeners. We pray that we will all be inspired and learn many things from these speakers.

Please pray for Manny Gocon’s health. Pray that Manny will be well enough so he and Linda can attend the National Conference in June.

Thank God that I have received my Canadian visa! This means that I will be able to be part of the team that will go on the Tour of Western US and Canada in the fall. Please pray that this tour will be productive and that God will be glorified!
