Efficiency Vermont - Flood Recovery Webinar

As Vermonters begin to recover from recent floods, Efficiency Vermont is hosting a webinar to answer common questions about rebuilding your home or small business. Join our energy experts to discuss drying out, weatherization while making repairs, and ensuring a healthy home and indoor environment after a flood. We'll also have some additional resources for small businesses.

FEMA DR4720 Applicant Briefings in Central Vermont

Applicants in the counties of Chittenden, Lamoille, Orleans, Caledonia, Washington, Addison, Orange, Rutland, Windsor, Bennington and Windham should attend at least 1 applicant briefing to discuss how to apply for the FEMA Public Assistance program. Applicants can include Towns, State agencies and Certain Non-Profits with 501c3.

2023 Vermont Community Leadership Summit

Registration is ongoing for the Vermont Council on Rural Development’s (VCRD) 2023 Vermont Community Leadership Summit: Strengthening Skills, Capacity, and Opportunity for the Future! The event will take at Vermont State University Randolph. 


Nothing gets done in Vermont communities without the people who put themselves on the line for their town and for the issues they care about. Join us in Randolph on August 15th to connect with over 500 community builders from across the state along with people from the non-profit, business, and government sectors, and more. The Summit is an opportunity to gain new skills, meet like-minded individuals, share success stories, and explore big ideas for the future of Vermont.

Vermont Flooding Emergency Response: Food Needs

Hunger Free Vermont is using this survey to capture statewide need for groceries, prepared meals, water, and infant formula. The State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) has asked to gather this information in order to secure state and federal funds to meet the unmet needs of those impacted by the flood, both right now and throughout the long recovery period to come.

FEMA Clean & Sanitize Assistance Program (excerpt from VTDigger)

FEMA Clean and Sanitize Assistance is intended to help homeowners and renters quickly address contamination from floodwaters to prevent additional losses and safety concerns and is available to those in counties where a disaster declaration has been made.


Applicants for the relief money are subject to a FEMA inspection. The damage cannot otherwise be covered by insurance. FEMA may reimburse residents who have already cleaned their homes, provided they have receipts of supplies, materials or paid help.

BEGAP Application is Now Live 

The Department of Economic Development (DED) is pleased to announce the application portal for the Business Emergency Gap Assistance Program (BEGAP) is now live and accepting applications.

Please note: the first step is creating an account with the State of Vermont. Instructions on how to do that can be found here

 

On the DED website you will also find a webinar that includes screenshots of a sample application, and program FAQs. There are also additional resources for non-English speakers and anyone who needs technical assistance.

The $20M BEGAP grant program is to help Vermont businesses and nonprofits that suffered physical damage in the flood that began July 7, 2023. The money is to be used to help them reopen their doors and get their employees back to work as soon as possible.

The Vermont Community Electric Vehicle Chargers Incentive Program

The Vermont Community Electric Vehicle Chargers Incentive Program launched July 6th. The program provides incentives for installing EV charging that will increase Vermonters' access to charging at workplaces, multi-unit homes, and community attractions.
