“The Hails take the blueprint and run with it, with the keyboard line humming along and each hook landing with the utmost conviction.”

“’Fiona’ showcases The Hails’ bottomless creative reservoir.”

Showcasing the dominance of the Florida indie scene, Miami’s The Hails and Magic City Hippies join forces for a remix of The Hails’ latest single “Fiona.” With the original version produced by Pat Howard of Magic City Hippies, this collaboration for the remix seemed like the natural choice to be made. Drenched in reverb, today’s spacey dance rework propels The Hails into the digital plane, while still preserving their inclination toward driving guitar riffs and bounding bass lines – Stream.

Lyrically, “Fiona” is inspired by the larger-than-life force that is Fiona Apple and her discography. The occult, otherworldly groove evocatively tells the tale of being caught in the orbit of a femme fatale who seems to single handedly hold life together. With the Magic City Hippies remix, the single takes on an entirely new format, giving fans a taste of the experimentation that creatively fuels The Hails.

While out on the road, The Hails will continue revealing more details of their upcoming debut LP set for release later this year. Their recent releases have won praise from the likes of Billboard, Consequence, EARMILK and many others, along with support from Spotify’s All New Indie, Fresh Finds and Fresh Finds Indie playlists. Fan-favorite single “Breathless” was followed up with a vintage inspired official video shot on Kodak film by Tristan Chandra. With the rate that their momentum is building, all signs point to the upcoming album being a pivotal moment for a band that is now surer of themselves than ever.

ABOUT THE HAILS

Following a string of encounters too strange to be coincidence, Robbie Kingsley, Franco Solari, Dylan McCue, Andre Escobar and Zach Levy came together to form The Hails. Despite first playing in an insular Miami high school music scene, the band officially formed at the University of Florida in Gainesville, turning the tattered carpeting and beer bottle lined shelves of their shitty college house into a distinct, refined sound that is now synonymous with their name.

After graduation, the group made the pilgrimage back to their home of Miami, the city that directly influenced the sound of their early shimmering singles “Younger” and “Stay,” debut EP He Seems Upset (2020), and the subsequent Alive in Strange Ways (2021). Recent highlights of the road include holding court at festivals including III Points, WonderStruck, Okeechobee and Playground, interspersed between sold-out shows across the state of Florida. The first half of 2022 also saw The Hails join WILLIS for West and East Coast dates.

Firing the starting pistol of their next chapter, The Hails have begun rolling out the singles from their upcoming debut album. The band’s new era earned them praise from Billboard, Consequence, EARMILK and many others, as well as editorial support on Spotify’s All New Indie, Fresh Finds and Fresh Finds Indie playlists. Having just wrapped up tour runs with The Happy Fits and The Beaches, The Hails will next join the moss on the road, while also playing their own headline dates.
