Fifth Seabed 2030 Arctic - Antarctic - North Pacific

Mapping Event

Bremen, Germany - Hybrid Event

November 27-29, 2023

The event will review the progress made since the last Seabed 2030 Arctic-Antarctic and North Pacific Mapping Meeting in 2021 including:


  • Status updates for IBCSO and IBCAO
  • Define priority areas for future mapping activities
  • Develop strategies to locate and unlock bathymetric data sets
  • Discus strategies for improved seabed to land transitions
  • Develop strategies to coordinate and promote new mapping activities
  • Identify new bathymetric data sources
  • Crowdsourced Bathymetry options

OPPORTUNITIES

Matching Fund Opportunity for Ocean and Coastal Mapping and Request for Partnership Proposals


This is an opportunity for non-Federal entities to partner with the OCM programs on jointly-funded projects of mutual interest. NOAA will match selected non-Federal partners at a 70:30 NOAA:partner ratio for projects totaling up to $1,000,000, and proposing to contract for ocean, coastal and/or Great Lakes mapping data.

2023

Two $10,000 USD, will be given to the solution that advances our understanding of the ocean and that helps minimize our impact on these resources, even while using them for human benefit, resulting in more resilient bodies of water including healthy marine life and coastlines.
