Thank you David Abrantes!

Each month we thank an individual, business and/or organization who supports our efforts, this month we would like to extend an extra thank you to our longtime volunteer, David Abrantes!

Over the last few years David has volunteered over 50 hours at the Center for various different events and programs! What makes David’s presence even more special is he is the husband of our amazing Program Coordinator, Joanna, and also father to two of our after school members, Evander and Ben!

David always comes in with a positive attitude and great sense of humor with every project Joanna signs him up for (haha – we are kidding – he helps out because he wants to)! Some of the events that David has volunteered for are our Halloween Haunted Maze, Santa Parade, Thanksgiving Dinner, Golf and CraftRoots fundraisers, and Summer Camp! In addition, annually, he lends us his truck to collect pumpkins from the community after Halloween to be donated to local farms in need! Finally, David is also an experienced contractor and builder and has lent his expertise with helping us fix things at the Center and more recently by running a woodworking program as part of our monthly LikfeSKills programming. Over the last year, the kids were able to make their very own bird houses and gum ball machines!

Thank you, David, for volunteering your time and for always lend a helping hand! We are so lucky to have the Abrantes Family as part of our MYC!
