The Ten Fastest Advance to the

Dash for Cash Derby (G2)

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas (Friday, September 15, 2023) – It was a big night of racing for some of the most talented three-year-olds in the country. It took five trials to determine the field for the $176,000 Dash for Cash Derby (G2) which will be run on Saturday, October 7.

The fastest time of the night was set by Otts Boy in race 7, the second trial of the night. The supplemental entry covered the 440 yards in :21.413 seconds.

The Texas-bred gelding (Mr Ottyes - Lovely Legs by Strawflyin Buds) was ridden to victory by Bryan Candanosa. The gelding is trained by Toby Keeton and owned by Luke R. Goebel.

Blues Girl and Tyger King tied for the 10th and final spot in the Dash for Cash Derby with a time of :21.673. After the trials, Blues Girl won the shake to determine the final qualifier.

There were 3,682 in attendance for the Friday night card. Total handle was $728,537 for the 11 races.

Live racing resumes Saturday, September 16 with 14 trials for the Dash for Cash Futurity. Post time will be at 5:05 p.m.
