In observance of Independence Day, there will be no closures scheduled Wednesday, July 3 through Sunday, July 7.

WHAT:

Work is underway to construct a new retaining wall along the southbound SR-55 MacArthur Boulevard on-ramps. Contractors are expected to pour concrete for the foundation of the new retaining wall. This night work will require closing the southbound MacArthur Boulevard straight and loop on-ramps, as well as up to two outside lanes on southbound

SR-55 at MacArthur.

WHEN: 

As early as 11:59 p.m. Wednesday, July 10 to 5 a.m. Thursday, July 11.

This work may be loud. The schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or unforeseen operational issues.

WHAT:

Contractors are expected to resume the installation of temporary shoring at the southern end of the Lane Channel, north of MacArthur Boulevard. Businesses adjacent to this work may be impacted by noise and vibration.

WHEN: 

Shoring activity is anticipated to begin as early as 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, July 8, and continuing intermittently, weekdays through July.

OCTA, in cooperation with Caltrans, is improving 4 miles of SR-55 between I-405 and I-5. The project will improve traffic flow and reduce travel time by adding one regular lane and one carpool lane in each direction. Also, the project will add merge lanes between several interchanges and stripe carpool lanes for continuous access, augmenting safety on the freeway by making merging easier. These enhancements are expected to create a better, smoother driving experience for motorists.
