School Announcements



  • Parent Workshop: Please join us for our last parent workshop of the year! We will have breakfast, raffles, door prizes, and giveaways. The workshop will take place on Wednesday, June 7th at 8:40 AM in the P.S. 36 Play Area.


  • Chancellor's & Clerical Day: Thursday, June 8 and Friday, June 9 school will be closed to all students. No students in building.



  • PTA Elections: PTA elections will be held on Monday, June 12 at 5:00 PM. Please join us to vote for your next PTA members and come out if you are interested in running. Zoom Link: https://teacherscollege.zoom.us/j/92858257604



  • P.S. 36 Graduation: We will be hosting graduation on Friday, June 23. Fifth grade will be graduating at 9:00 AM and Kindergarten at 10:15 AM.


  • P.S. 36 Moving Up Ceremony: We will be hosting moving up ceremonies for 3K and PK classes in the school building on Thursday, June 22, 2023.


  • Last Day of School: The last day of school for all students will be Tuesday, June 27, 2023, and you will also receive report cards. Schools will resume on September 7, 2023.


  • Summer Rising Application: Summer rising will be from Wednesday, July 5 to Friday, August 18, 2023.


  • Dress Code: As the weather gets hotter we will like to remind you that students are not allowed to wear short shorts, flip flops, and tank tops.


  • 3K, PK, & Kindergarten Registration: Registration is open Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM.


  • Health and Safety: It is very important that if your child is sick you keep them home, and check in with a doctor before bringing them back into school building. The Nurse will continue to see students and inform the parents if your child needs to go home. COVID testing kits are given to students every week, please use if needed.


  • Device Update: We will continue to use learning devices for both in person learning and at times when called for during temporary remote instruction. Please keep your devices at home for the summer and prepare to bring in the device in September.


  • DOE School Calendar: You can find the new school calendar for the school year of 2022 to 2023 HERE


  • NYC Schools Account: It’s important that your school is able to reach you to share crucial information quickly, including alerts about confirmed COVID-19 cases in your child’s school. Please sign up for a NYC Schools Account (NYCSA) so we can contact you via phone, email, or text message. STEPS ARE HERE

Arrival and Dismissal Updates
  • Breakfast will be served for all students in the cafeteria at 8:00 AM.
  • 3K – PK students will be escorted and picked by their parent to their classrooms.
  • Kindergarten and First Grade students will be greeted and dismissed by their teachers at the Unit 1 veranda.
  • Second and Third Grade students will be greeted and dismissed by their teachers at the Unit 3 veranda.
  • Fourth and Fifth Grade students will be greeted and dismissed by their teachers at the main lobby, Exit 2 veranda.

School Based Mental Health Services

School Based Mental Health Services offers students a space to talk about their thoughts and feelings in a safe environment and helps them develop healthy coping-skills. We offer individual counseling services, family therapy, and group counseling for students. 

 

If you believe your child can benefit from developing healthy coping skills or if you notice your child is experiencing changes in their eating or sleeping habits, behavioral issues, extreme feelings of sadness or worry, or has experienced any type of traumatic event, please reach out to Ingrid Cabrera at  Ingrid.Cabrera@nyfoundling.org, and fill out a consultation form below.
