The holiday festivities kick-off tomorrow, June 29 with the Sgt. Preston Ashley American Legion Post 228's Drive-Thru BBQ Chicken Sale at 11:00 a.m.
Rock Hall's Third of July fireworks bring light to night sky on Wednesday at dusk. The Rock Hall Volunteer Fire Company presents fireworks at roughly 9:15 p.m. over Rock Hall Harbor – and the Admirals Beachside Bar at Haven Harbour South provides the best viewing in town. Independence Day morning begins 8:00 a.m. with the 41st Annual Rock Hall Flat Five. This nearly five-mile-long road race is proudly operated (for all 41 years) by former Haven Harbour South Dockmaster Denny Herrmann. Following the race, Rock Hall's hometown parade gets going along Main Street at 10:00 a.m. Immediately following the parade, head over to the Civic Center Festival at 11:00 a.m. for games, food, music, merriment and more.
Rock Hall Volunteer Fire Company's Drive-Thru Fish Fry is slated for Saturday, July 6, lasting from 3:00-6:00 p.m. Fried fish, fried potatoes, baked beans, applesauce and dessert will be served at $20 per person.
Sunday, July 7 is the Kent County Waterman's Association's Waterman's Day. Taking place at Rock Hall Bulkhead, this longstanding community event features boat docking and anchor toss competitions, as well as food, refreshments and vendors of local wares that combined make for an afternoon of festive family fun. Activities begin at around 12:00 noon.
