When is Give Day?

November 2, 2023

What is Give Day?

Give Day is a 24-hour online fundraising campaign aimed to bring the St. Luke’s Epsicopal School community together. The goals are to increase engagement and drive philanthropic donations to the school.

Why?

Simply put, tuition doesn’t cover the cost of educating our students. Give Day provides an opportunity for us to join together to provide our students the resources they need to be successful in college and in life.

What’s the Goal?

$45,000

We would like to express our deepest gratitude to all of the volunteers and sponsors who helped make Casino Night 2023 a success. All of St. Luke's students and faculty benefit from your dedication and compassion. Your time and commitment are sincerely appreciated, and we could not have done it without you. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you!

ST. LUKE'S DAY 2023

This week, we celebrated the feast of St. Luke. St. Luke is the author of the Gospel According to Luke and the Acts of the Apostles and one of the most literary New Testament writers. Saint Luke is the patron saint of physicians, surgeons and artists. He accompanied St. Paul on a considerable part of his missionary journey. Luke was the first Christian physician on record and was one of the first converts to Christianity.

The Japonica Campus celebrated St. Luke's Day with a parade and cupcakes while the University Campus celebrated with ice cream and toppings!

STEM(M) AT ST. LUKE'S: FEATURING NEUROKINESIOLOGY IN PE

Recently, the physical education faculty from both campuses took part in a professional development session about physical activities that promote neuromotor maturity. The session was led by Erin Reilly, PhD, and Tiffany Higgenbotham, MS, DPT, who are co-founders of NeuroKinetic Solutions and the creators of the Brain Pump curriculum. They use fun and movement to encourage healthy brain development through neurokinesiology. During the session, they focused on the vestibular system (inner ear/balance), proprioceptive system (spatial awareness), and the oculomotor system (eye), which are responsible for most of the stimuli that the brain receives. Our excellent teachers have already begun implementing many of the exercises and techniques that were demonstrated, and they now have access to new equipment, fresh ideas, and a greater understanding of the neuroscience behind the critical skills they are teaching.
