THANK YOU COMMUNITY SERVE DAY VOLUNTEERS AND SPONSORS!
Thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday for Community Serve Day! We had over 70 people join us from our Rockwell and surrounding community members.

Thanks to our hard-working volunteers, we were able to accomplish the following in just four hours:

  • help SIX teachers set up their classrooms
  • copying, cutting, laminating projects in the office
  • deliver science and curriculum kits to classrooms
  • inflate all the new recess balls
  • prepare welcome back packets for teachers and families
  • replenish e-prep backpacks
  • clean up the planter boxes in the entry courtyard
  • plant new flowers in the planters by the playground
  • paint a wall in each of our courtyard spaces to brighten things up
  • repaint the US map on the blacktop
  • sanitize and clean our playground equipment
  • spread new bark in the banana tree and sand pit areas
  • spread new playground bark on the big toy and little toy
  • cut back a LOT of blackberries
  • remove the moss around the bike racks
  • pick up two HUGE contractor bags worth of trash around the grounds! (Thanks to a team of our youngest workers for this--way to go!)

So much work...and SO appreciated...Rockwell is looking pretty!

A HUGE THANK YOU to those who sponsored this event. It would not have happened without you!

  • Northshore Community Church: for creating and organizing community serve day and providing volunteers, snacks and water throughout the day, and the framework for this to all happen!
  • Blazing Bagels for providing bagel bites
  • Challenge Island for providing pizza and cookies for lunch after a hard days' work! (More info about this awesome Rockwell-family owned business in our next Bugle!! In the meantime, check out their website!)
New Family Playdate
Wednesday, Aug 30, 2023
11:00am or 7:00pm

Your Rockwell PTA is hosting two playdates this week for our incoming Kindergarten students and any families that are new to Rockwell (any grade level). Meet us at the play structure behind the school building next to the sandy field.

We have offered two time options for the playdate to accommodate working parents or guardians. You may come to either the 11:00am or 7:00pm playdate.

A few veteran Rockwell parents will be available to answer any questions you have about the school, events, or the PTA.

Welcome to our amazing school community! We look forward to meeting you.

Back to School Picnic &
Food Truck Event
Thursday, Sep 14, 2023
6-8 pm rain or shine
Please join us for our PTA sponsored back to school picnic & food truck event. In addition to delicious food, we will enjoy performances from two of our after school enrichment vendors, Bach to Rock and Challenge Island, as well as a visit from our very own mayor, Angela Birney. This is a great opportunity to meet your child’s new classmates, teachers, and families and enjoy the last bits of summer weather!

Where: Back lawn area and blacktop along the fifth grade classrooms. Bring lawn chairs or blankets with you and a picnic dinner unless you would like to purchase from our food truck vendors. Due to liability issues, all children need to be supervised by a parent or family member over the age of 18.

Food trucks will be in the south staff parking lot. Tickets for popcorn and cotton candy can be purchased at the PTA information table under the covered area near the gym (cotton candy $3, popcorn $2). Both cash and CC will be accepted.

We look forward to seeing everyone there!
