Family & Community Outreach
It's time for Family Palooza registration!! Our next event is on November 4th from 10:00am - 2:00pm in collaboration with the Children's Museum of Skagit County's Full STEAM Ahead event. Participating organizations will be in groupings around a 9-hole mini-golf course. Organizations will share tables with other similar organizations around nine theme areas including pregnancy, basic needs, nutrition, and more! Space is limited, so organizations must register in advance. REGISTER HERE.

Imagination Library of Skagit County
If you have a child from 0-5 years old, register them today for free monthly books at www.UnitedWaySkagit.org. In 6-8 weeks, they will receive their first book in the mail. They will continue to arrive until the child's 5th birthday.

Registration for Parent Leadership Training Institute Session FALL 2023 NOW OPEN
Starting on Saturday, September 16th! The Parent Leadership Training Institute (PLTI) is a free, 12-week online course that teaches parents and those who care for children to understand systems and develop community, school engagement, and public speaking skills. The course offers five, free, elective college credits for those who graduate. Children 6-12 years old, receive age-appropriate books to create their home libraries.
Fatherhood & Father Figures Curriculum:
There is a new no-cost online curriculum now available designed for fathers and father figures. This curriculum highlights lived experiences and stories from communities around the country to illustrate the importance of including fathers and father figures in early childhood systems of care. It also provides a comprehensive set of resources on father intervention and affirming activities.
Perinatal Support of Washington – Free Perinatal Mental Health Consultations
As a care provider we recognize that you place great importance on quality client referrals for perinatal mental health. Perinatal Support Washington is dedicated to reducing barriers that people face accessing high quality mental health care. Our new therapy program was designed to provide parents with the care they need, where they want it: in their home, in the community, online, or in the office. The program serves both English and Spanish-speaking parents.

Parent Advisory Committee Training - National Family Support Network

How can an active Parent Advisory Committee enhance a Program's work with families? This unique, highly-rated training is designed for program managers and direct service staff who work with, or would like to develop, a Parent Advisory Committee (PAC). Whether Programs are exploring setting up a new PAC, or seeking to strengthen an existing one, this training will provide staff with the strategies and tools to maximize the great potential of shared staff-parent leadership. The training is co-conducted by a NFSN staff member and an experienced national Parent Leader.

Skagit PERC Perinatal Support Washington Hiring - Bilingual Parent Resilience Specialist
Parent Resilience Specialist works with pregnant and parenting families who are at-risk for or are experiencing mental health challenges related to childbearing. Some examples could include anxiety, sadness or grief around unexpected parenting/birth outcomes, depression, sleeplessness, scary or intrusive thoughts. Specialists are not mental health providers but are providing peer services.
