In the last Communicator we reported about the dedication of a plaque in the chapel at Josiah White’s in honor of Lisle Gibson. Lisle was the uncle of former CEO, Dee Gibson, and was a key friend of Josiah White’s. He famously stated, “No child should be without a home.” This is a huge piece of what led to Lisle’s love for Josiah White’s. For more information about this and all the happenings of Josiah White’s click HERE for the full annual report.

EFM (Evangelical Friends Missions) is excited to announce the launch of their new Family Mission Focus Offering, available here: https://friendsmission.com/2023-family/. There is no such thing as a Junior Holy Spirit. God works in children’s lives as powerfully as in adults. EFM wants to help parents, grandparents, relatives, and friends of children nurture this work. Four missionary families (including their kids) and one missionary support family have contributed to a children’s devotional resource (available online) hoping to spur on conversations about how God is at work around the world as well as in our families. We are praying that many children will want to respond in generosity. We are collecting a Family Missions Focus Offering. It will be used to support our Five-Year Goal that is fueled by the Luke 10 Initiative – sending 10 New Households to 5 New Fields by the End of 2025. Please prayerfully consider inviting the children in your life to participate in this opportunity to learn the joy of giving. You can also download a copy of the devotional to share with your family!”

A Message from our Superintendent
|
Good Morning,
What inspires you?
This is a question we may not consciously think of often, but it may be something that
affects us quite a bit. For some, inspiration brings teary eyes. For others it may bring motivation that leads to action. Still others may feel compelled to reach out to a loved one.
Consider these words from Isaiah 25:8-9: He will swallow up death forever. The Sovereign Lord will wipe away the tears from all faces; He will remove his people’s disgrace from all the earth. The Lord has spoken.
In that day they will say, “Surely this is our God; we trusted in him, and he saved us. This is the Lord, we trusted in him; let us rejoice and be glad in his salvation."
He will remove death from the equation. He will wipe away every tear. He will remove all disgrace. He will save us. Let us rejoice!
Our theme for IYM Sessions next month is ‘Simple Inspiration’ with these verses from Isaiah as a theme passage. As we prepare to gather for those Sessions, may our Lord use these words to inspire us as they settle into our hearts and minds.
Thank You, Father, for the many ways You inspire us to know love and to follow You!
-Pat Byers
