May Students of the Month
Antoni Halka
Class of 2023

Antoni Halka says his favorite class at North Hunterdon was Organic Chemistry. Antoni enjoyed learning about chemical properties and how chemicals interact with each other. He finds it very interesting how we are all built by these molecules. Antoni is Captain of the swim team and has the role of an officer in National Spanish Honor Society. He is a member of Key Club, Chess Club, Ski Club, National Honor Society, National Math Honor Society, and National Science Honor Society. Outside of North, Antoni is a lifeguard and swim instructor at the YMCA. Antoni says his years at North Hunterdon were filled with fun and good memories. His favorite memories came from the swim team. Even though the swim team lost a lot of their meets, the team was still able to have a lot of fun. The best meets were against teams they could win against. At those meets, the team had high energy and everyone was cheering on each other to win. Next year, Antoni will be studying Biology and Chemistry at the University of Florida.
Mateo Halka
Class of 2023

Senior, Mateo Halka says his experience at North Hunterdon High School has been enriching, both academically and socially. The classes Mateo has taken and the friends he has met along the way are things he is deeply appreciative of. Mateo’s favorite classes at North have been the more math-based classes he has taken, such as Physics and Calculus. He really liked the problem-solving aspect of all these types of classes. Mateo is an executive board member for National Science and Spanish Honor Societies. He is also a member of National Honor Society and National Math Honor Society. Mateo is a member of the Lions Swim Team. He is Captain of the team and has swum varsity for the past four years. Mateo works at the YMCA where he is a lifeguard and a swim instructor. Some of Mateo’s favorite memories at North were playing in Spike for a Cure with his friends and leading the swim meets. Next year, Mateo will be attending the University of Florida where he will be studying Criminal Justice.

May Athletes of the Month
Patrick Egg
Class of 2023

Senior, Patrick Egg is a three-year varsity letter winner on the Boys Lacrosse Team at North Hunterdon. Patrick was named one of the team captains his senior year and plays the midfield position. He has been playing lacrosse for the past 12 years. Patrick is one of only 14 lacrosse players since 1975 to score 100 career points. His strongest skills in the sport are his vision on the field and lacrosse IQ when under high-pressure situations. Patrick currently has a personal record of scoring the most points in a single season for his career. Outside of lacrosse, he is a member of National Honor Society and History Honor Society. Patrick says his experience at North has been fun and enriching. He has enjoyed many great experiences and overcome many challenges in his four years. While being at North, he has made friends that will last a lifetime and made many memories that he will carry with him as well as enhancing his education. Next year, Patrick will be playing lacrosse at Vassar College where he will major in economics.

Alessandra Moore
Class of 2023

Alessandra Moore has been playing lacrosse since the fourth grade. Ally’s strongest skills in lacrosse are taking the draw and playing offense. She has played midfield for North for the past four years. The team had some big confidence boosters when they beat Bernards and Hillsborough on Senior Night. This season, Ally has reached 100 points and 100 draw controls. Outside of North, she has been playing with her club team, Triple Threat, for the past six years. Ally is a member of the Unified Club, Unified Sports, Future Business Leaders of America, Interact Club, and National Honor Society. She enjoys coaching youth lacrosse in her free time because that is where she discovered her love for the sport. Ally says her time at North Hunterdon has been filled with many positive memories both on and off the field. She will always be grateful to have had the opportunity to play with such a supportive team and has made amazing friends along the way. Next year, Ally will be attending Easter Michigan University where she will play lacrosse and major in Finance.
