Rotary Park Playground Upgrades


Rotary Park Playground is closed until the project is complete. While the playground equipment has been installed, wood chips will be arriving soon and the playground will be closed until the wood chips are all in place. We anticipate the playground to be opened by September 1st. The Playground will be closed for use until the project is complete. We will communicate the reopening of the Rotary Park Playground upon its completion. We appreciate your patience as we work to improve our playgrounds.  

Tennis Lessons


Former collegiate coach, Ray Still, will instruct each participant and help build proper form and technique of each participant. Lessons will be held May, June, July, August, and September on Tuesdays or Thursdays. Open to ages 6 years old and older. Registration is $50 per four week session.

Movies in the Park: Sponsored by

The Massengale Group of KW


The Movies in the Park series is presented by the Massengale Group of KW. All movies are held at McCauley Park, begin at dusk, and all movies are FREE! Please bring lawn chairs or blankets. Concessions will be available for purchase. All movies are dependent on weather. No smoking and no alcohol.

Fall Recreational Basketball


Recreational Basketball is geared towards introducing and fostering interest in

basketball. Emphasis is on learning the game and having fun.


Season Dates: Saturday, November 4th - December 16th. Practices begin the week of October 23rd.


Open To: Boys and girls ages 3 years old (must be 3 by November 4th) to 6th grade.


Location: Games are played at The X Center and Nixa Public Schools.


Fees: Members $42, Nixa Residents $47, Non-Residents $55.


Registration: Ends October 4th. Late registration from October 5th - October 8th with a $10 additional late fee. Or until maximum capacity of 700 participants.

NASP: National Afterschool Archery Program


NASP Afterschool Archery Program follows the mission and guiding principles set by NASP. This program has a Beginner Class open to anyone, 4th - 12th grade, interested in learning archery. It also has an Open Shoot class open to anyone, 4th - 12th grade, who has successfully completed the Beginner Class. All equipment will be provided. Genesis Bows and Easton 1820 arrows. No other equipment is allowed.

 

Dates: Mondays & Wednesdays for 3-weeks. 

Session 2: October 16th - November 1st

Session 3: November 6th - November 20th

(make up class for November 22nd on the 27th)

 

Times: Beginner Class: 4 pm - 4:45 pm; Open Shoot Class 5 pm - 5:45 pm (must complete Beginner Class prior to enrollment).

 

Open To: The program is open anyone 4th - 12th grade.

 

Location: The X Center

 

Fees: Per Session. Members $22, Nixa Residents $25, Non-Residents $27. 

 

Registration: Ends the Thursday prior to the session date or until maximum capacity.

Art Classes: September


Painting Junkie is excited to be teaching painting classes to kids in grades 2nd - 6th. In the September class we will be painting scarecrow cutouts (choose between a 12" cutout or an 18" cutout) in a step-by-step lesson that will be an engaging and fun way to create a masterpiece. Students will be able to change colors and use their own creativity within the lesson to make the artwork their own. Debbie Hightower is a retired elementary teacher after 29 years in the classroom. She loves working with kids and guiding them to be their best artist.


Registration: Ends September 1st

Date: Tuesday, September 5th, 6 pm - 7:30 pm

Open To: 2nd - 6th grade

Fee: $20 for the 12" inch cutout; $30 for the 18" inch cutout

*Space is limited to 10 participants for each cutout size*

Toddler Time at The X Center


Join us on Wednesdays, beginning September 13th, at 10:30 am for Toddler Time! The program will feature activities like animal encounters (2nd Wednesday of each month), arts and crafts, book readings, sensory bins, dance parties, and open gym. The fee is $3 per person and kids 1 and under are free.
