As many of you know, this year’s fund-a-need at the 29th Annual Gala Dinner Dance, Soar! was dedicated to launching a new pilot project, “Beyond Graduation.” This project - with a two-year scope to start - would be tackling issues related to our students and their families as they prepare to graduate and transition, post 21 years of age.
Jennifer Boyle - parent of current CTC S.T.E.P student, Sean - has been leading our “Beyond Graduation” task force for over 18+ months as a volunteer. As the task force concluded its work and submitted findings to the CTC Board of Directors, the need for a more concentrated and continued effort and a reimagined task force became apparent.
I would like to formally announce that Jennifer Boyle has now - as of September 2023 - transitioned to the official capacity of part-time, consultant, transition coordinator of the “Beyond Graduation Project.” As such, Jennifer will be working to connect our families of upcoming and past graduates with as many appropriate options as possible as they transition to over 21 supports and services. Additionally, Jennifer will be leading an advocacy effort to improve services for adults who have severe disabilities and complex medical needs.
You will be hearing a lot more from Jennifer and the CTC parent and staff team as this exciting project develops!
