Dear Saint Mark Family,

I pray you are doing well and that you took the time this week to list your fears and turn them over to God, as you were encouraged to do this past Sunday. Throughout this season, I am reminded repeatedly that God is greater than our greatest fear, and we can trust the Lord to be with us even when life gets scary. God has promised never to leave us or forsake us, and we can hold fast to this promise because God is faithful.

On Sunday, we welcomed Madi Dunn, our new Children’s Minister, to Saint Mark. Madi is a second-year student at Candler School of Theology, and is excited to be a part of our Saint Mark family. We are delighted to have her serving with us. As you see her in the coming weeks, please take the time to introduce yourselves and make her feel at home. We are delighted to have her as a member of our team. Welcome Madi!

Starting this Monday, September 25, you will see some major work being done on the Bridge Connection between the parking deck and the second floor of the Education Building. It will extend all the down the hallway to the entrance of Chapel, stopping just before the narthex of the sanctuary. This work will include the removal of the carpet and replacement of flooring, along with painting of selected classrooms and the corridors. The estimated timeframe for completion is November

As with any renovation in an actively used area, it will require a lot of patience and an ample amount of grace. There will be the in-between times, such as when the carpet is removed and the new flooring is not installed, or when the paint is not yet fully dried. In all of this Saint Mark, we ask for your patience and grace. All areas will be properly maintained during the renovations, so there will be little impact to our congregation. Every effort will also be taken to ensure your safety while the work is being done.

I must take this time to thank our Endurability Committee and Trustees, both current and past members, for the great work they have done in making all these renovations possible. I am grateful to each of them for their time and commitment to the ministry of church

God bless you, Saint Mark. I look forward to seeing you in worship on Sunday.

Blessings,

Pastor Carolyn.
