The annual Kids Zone Area powered by Hands4Hope at the El Dorado Hills Town Center's Fireworks and Freedom Concert is one of the largest youth led fundraisers of the year, and always a memorable event. This year, the 21-member committee led the event to raise $9,000 to benefit Hands4Hope Education Programs! Join us in celebrating this year's successful event by reading more and watching the Kids Zone video. As Vikram Dev Singh enters his Senior year at Oak Ridge High School, his is also marking his 6th year participating with Hands4Hope. He has been involved in so many ways: serving as President of his middle and high school clubs; participating in Committees for Fall Festival, Kids Zone, and School Supply Drive; and actively attending Community Engagement Events like Camp Mercy. He's done it all! Read on to see what he has to say about why he chooses to spend so much of his time with Hands4Hope, and the many things he feels that he receives out of his experiences.

In July, ASPIRE Outfitters Committee partnered with Folsom's Hope to organize and distribute clothing for students with their after school program and their families. On the distribution day, Hands4Hope participants assisted 29 students and siblings aged 2-12 to choose 4-5 pairs of shorts/pants, 4-5 shirts, a pack of underwear, a pack of socks, and shoes. They also received a backpack to use as a shopping bag. In total, 362 clothing items were distributed, which also included providing some items to Theodore Judah Elementary to keep in their office for students in need during the school year.
More Hands4Hope participants are needed to join this meaningful committee and keep making sure that kids in need have access to clothing.

The 12th Annual Youth Recognition Event on July 6 was a time to honor and recognize the achievements of Hands4Hope - Youth Making A Difference participants for the 2022-2023 program year. Hands4Hope youth participants served 12,327 hours, which is 2,700 more hours than in the previous program year. Additionally, 57 youth earned the prestigious President's Volunteer Service Award, a national program that recognizes individuals for their service. Wow! We are so impressed by all of our youth participants and all they accomplished. | |

Lynn Fedoryk retired from teaching and moved to a new town, and found herself missing interaction with students. In her role as an Adult Lead with Hands4Hope, she has forged rewarding connections with many youth, and says that volunteering is a way to "restore faith in humanity." In addition to working with youth participants, Lynn has also assisted Hands4Hope in other capacities, including working on Big Day of Giving and Endless Summer Beach Party.

With the start of a new school year comes the season for students from Folsom to Placerville to join their on-campus clubs at 13 middle and high school locations! Club participants experience a full school year of service learning through teamwork with other members to determine unmet needs in the community, then plan and implement service projects to help meet those needs. Keep an eye out for "club day" at your school to find out more, or view all of our club sign-up links. Homeschoolers are welcome, too! | |

Save the date for the 6th Annual Hands4Hope - Youth Making A Difference Fall Festival at El Dorado Hills Town Center on October 14 and 15! This multi-day youth led fundraiser and family-friendly festival features all your favorite seasonal games and activities, including the beloved hay rides and pumpkin decorating.
