Matthew 14:22-33 (1 Kings 19:9-18, Psalm 85:8-13, Romans ...
You have no doubt heard me say, many times, that Peter is my patron saint - along with Óscar Romero. The latter because of his profound example, and the former because he is a wee bit of a mess, just like me. Peter is always in trouble; always...

AV Tech Task Force Update
Thank you to everyone who took time to complete the “What’s Cool” survey. Our Task Force will use your thoughts and experiences as we begin developing technology improvement recommendations for SAKLC. And we hope you had a popsicle after the Sunday, August 6 service. It’s our small way of saying “thank you”. Special thanks to our anonymous donor for providing this cool treat.

Are you curious to know who is serving on the AV Tech Task Force? Find that and more by clicking on the link below. It will take you to a video introduction of each of the members and why it is important to them.

Coming Soon – A second technology survey will be announced next week. Stay tuned!

Medical Equipment Donations
Do you have lightly used medical equipment you are no longer using? SAKLC could use these donations! We often get requests from members and friends who are looking for something to borrow for a short period during recovery. We also sometimes need equipment on Sunday mornings. Storage space is an issue, so we can only take a few pieces in good or like-new condition. Contact the Church Office if you have a donation. We would be grateful!
- Wheelchairs
- Walkers (with or without seats)
- Canes

Refugee Ministry Update
Thanks to your generous donations, we continue to have families moving to apartments where they have all their household goods. We’ve helped three families last week and one new mom with baby items. We have picked up many donations for these families. For instance, we were able to give a young girl a computer and printer so she could take her nursing tests. We also gave tablets to four young girls from the Congo so they could learn English. We feel so blessed to be able to help.

Pastor Ken's Weekly Bible Study
|
|
Each week, throughout the year, Pr. Ken leads a Bible study on Wednesday mornings, from 11:00am-noon in-person and via zoom. The class discusses the Scripture texts assigned for the forthcoming Sunday worship services. Pr. Ken shares a calendar month of handouts in advance, so that participants can look ahead, and read the comments of Lutheran scholars prior to each session. Each week there is a good mix of lay people, and retired pastors, with each group brining their unique perspectives on life and Scripture – it’s a fun group! Click the button below to join the Bible study via zoom.
