A Message From Leah Flach

Our President

"Be like a tree. Stay grounded. Connect with your roots. Turn over a new leaf. Bend before you break. Enjoy your unique natural beauty. Keep growing.” —Joanne Raptis, Illustrator

As we begin our new Wakefield Women's Club year and journey into Autumn our seasons begin to change. We are thinking of warm colors and firelit nights ahead. Our club year has begun and we are connecting with our roots. Every branch of our club comes together to form a beautiful tree. We saw that at the September luncheon.

We heard from our board members, activities coordinators, and each committee chair. They told us about each group and how to get involved. The WWC website is a good resource if you need to contact a board member, an activities coordinator, or committee chair. wwclub.org

Don't forget to purchase tickets for the December 15,2023 Gala. This will certainly be an evening to remember. This is just one of the exciting activities coming up soon. The WWC Member Social will be held on September 20,2023 at Local Charm. This will be a fun time to socialize and meet new friends. If you have not found a small group yet, we hope that you will take the opportunity to do so.

It is going to be a year filled with activity and amazing experiences.

Don't miss our October Luncheon. The Hope Center at Pullen will be our speaker.

https://hopecenteratpullen.org/

Please don't forget all of our volunteers who make all of our activities possible. They all enjoy giving their time for you. Please remember, in addition, though they also have busy lives. You make it all possible for our club to expand our roots, to thrive, and to grow our branches and leaves.

Thank you for all that you do.

Leah

Hi Ladies!

The organization we are focusing on this month is The Hope Center at Pullen.

Supplies or donations are needed

and would be greatly appreciated for those who have aged out of foster care and are going out on their own. We will be honored to welcome two staff members from The Hope Center at Pullen attend our October luncheon to tell us more about this center.

https://hopecenteratpullen.org/

Thank you WWC members for your generous donations to the

Tri-Area Ministries Food Bank at our September Luncheon. We “passed the egg box” and collected $415.00. We will continue collecting can goods or donations to this group. The goal of this group is to: Stop Hunger and Feed Hope.

We also collected for Tools 4 Schools. This organization was very excited to get all the fantastic donations of school supplies needed for educators and students to thrive in the classroom.

We will continue to donate to InterAct with gently used donations of women’s clothing, shoes, and accessories.

For more information for InterAct and to view what they can and cannot accept, visit their website.

Looking forward to a great year!

Activity News

from Tamara Porter

Ladies,

Hopefully by now you have reviewed the many group activities and have decided where to get involved this year. Maybe try a new group to learn something new or meet some new friends! Feel free to reach out to the group leaders individually or let me know and I will connect you!

Interests are always changing, as such the Canasta group that met on the 3rd Thursday has been suspended for the time being. If there is renewed interest in that game, we will restart it at that time.

Again, if you have questions or ideas, please let me know.

Tamara Porter
