Spring Has Sprung

It's springtime in New Jersey! This is a great time of the year to get outside, play, walk, garden, try simple recipes with nutritious food, and grow your own!

I love cooking more in the spring because I'm happier with warm weather and, (typically) produce is cheaper. Win, win!

My favorite thing is a bunch of green onions or chives and throw a few into a cup, on my window sill, and refresh it's water once a week. I've had the same one for over two months now! I sprinkle them on everything for some extra, healthy flavor! My eggs become fancy, my soup is refreshing, and my sandwiches are delicious!

Besides that, I try to keep small, easy plants in our windows to remind me of eating green as often as possible. Which also reminds me to get outside, even if it's to take just one deep breath of fresh air.

Inhale - count to three, exhale. There that's better.

They have tabs for breakfast, lkunch, dinner, dessert, and snack in Español y Inglés! Try out one of these recipes together! When we incorporate cooking with our relationships, food can become more enjoyable and less stressful! At Franklin Food Bank, we're always striving for more joy which we hope you feel every time you interact with us.

This brings us to exciting news, we are beyond thrilled to announce a Monthly Nutrition Class!

Beginning in April, the Second Friday of every month we will be holding a formal Nutrition Class! These workshops held in partnership with Zufall Health, includes a cooking demonstration - WITH SAMPLES, yum! Most importantly, the participating families will learn creative basic things to do with the food they get right here in our Market.
